DAILY DEVOTIONAL
(Matthew 6:33)

"So don't worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to."

God wants to use you today. Understanding that this life is made much easier when we understand why we are here. God created us to serve and glorify Him. Our jobs, our families, our hobbies are all parts of our lives on this earth. None of them represents our reason for being tough. We are here to worship and serve our creator. I am convinced, through scripture, that as long as we are on this earth God has a plan for our lives. There is no accident, no disaster, no bullet, no knife, no plane crash, no car wreck... NOTHING... that can end our lives before God is done using us to fulfill His plan.

I don't know in what form or fashion God wants to use you today. Possibly, God wants you just to give a word of encouragement to someone who is feeling down. Maybe HE too wants you to take an active role in some area of your church life. Possibly God chooses that you devote more time in volunteering to a ministry to which He has connected you already. What I do know is that God wants to use you this day and is looking for your cheerful obedience in answering His calls. Many of our blessings in this life come because we were faithful and obedient to our Lord's call. We miss many of our blessings because in rebellion we do not listen to that "still small voice" trying to tell us the direction God has for us and wants us to go.

Spend a few minutes right now in prayer. Maybe you already know what it is that God is asking you to do. Now is the time to respond. Maybe you aren't quite sure. Just trust me that if you seriously seek His choices for you He will give you valuable answers. While we spend much of our lives dealing with the daily necessities of living in this world, let us never forget why we are here. We must try each day to fulfill these purposes for which He designed and created us as a part of His great plan. Seek His face as you turn yourself over to God to remake you into the image He had for you from the beginning. God loves you so much. Allow God to bless you abundantly as you follow Him.

In His love and service,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
