DAILY DEVOTIONAL    FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2001
(Mark 10:43,44 John 13:14 Galatians 6:13 John 10:1-5)

But among you it is different. Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant. And whoever wants to be greatest of all must be the slave of all.

And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet.

And even those teachers who submit to circumcision don't try to keep the other Jewish laws; but they want you to be circumcised in order that they can boast that you are their disciples.

Anyone refusing to walk through the gate into a sheepfold, who sneaks over the wall, must surely be a thief! For a shepherd comes through the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice and come to him; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. He walks ahead of them; and they follow him, for they recognize his voice. They won't follow a stranger but will run from him, for they don't recognize his voice.

Serving others. As always, our example on how we are to live this life comes from Jesus. One of the most powerful lessons He taught during His earthly ministry was that He can to serve others, NOT be served. One of the things that I vowed to God when I started Liveprayer.com over 26 months ago, was that I would be a servant. I would freely give of all that I had to meet the needs of the hurting and the lost of this world, using this incredible technology. I believe in my heart, that one reason God has had His hand on this ministry and has helped it reach so many, is because I have been faithful to that vow. There is NO other Internet ministry of our size that literally responds in a personal way to every incoming email. I have assembled an incredible team of over 180 retried pastors nationwide that help me make this happen. Between the Daily Devotional I write each morning, the 13,000 plus personal responses to incoming emails that go out daily, and over 15,000 unique visitors to our website each day, many on the 24/7 LIVE video feed, everything we do it geared to sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ in a very personal way with people worldwide. I personally still answer 100 or so of the incoming emails myself each day. Why? Sure, I could have my team do it, but I want in on the action! This is what God has called me to do with my life. I want to be a servant like Jesus was a servant! I don't ever want to get removed from the hurts and pains of the people we minister to each day.

For many years I was involved in a large way in the Christian television world. I have to admit, that I was a bit shocked at how some of the men and women God has so richly blessed, have it upside down. Jesus said He came to serve others, NOT be served. Yet so many of our Christian leaders seem to have forgotten this. Being the recipient of numerous death threats a month, I understand how those high profile people need to be sensitive to security needs. But the entourages, the opulence, make these people of God look more like visiting royalty than servants of God. Some pastors are harder to get on the phone than President Bush. Again, I understand the need for order, and the incredible responsibilities some of these men and women of God have, but we are to be servants first, and can never lose sight of that!

Under great conviction on this issue in my private time with the Lord these last several weeks, I decided to do even more to help people over the hurts, pains, and trials of this life. Starting next week, I am going to block off every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am EST until 1pm EST to minister to you over the phone. I love the computer, but I miss the personal interaction. Being face to face would be the ideal situation, but since that is not possible in most cases, the telephone is the next best thing. The calls will be in 15 minute segments. I will do my best in that time to give you some Godly advice for whatever you are facing, and pray for you. That means I will be able to speak to 12 of you each day, or 36 each week. The way this will work is you will have to call my scheduling assistant, Arlene at 727-460-1749. She will be able to give you a definite date and time when I will call. You must give her the phone number that you want me to call you on. I have to call you. I want you to understand, that there will be no magic in these calls, but we can chat, and pray, and ask God to help you in whatever problems you may be facing. As with all we do at Liveprayer, there will be no charge for these phone calls. I get ripped pretty good every time we share the financial needs here at Liveprayer. It actually is 4 times a month for those who count. Those people don't understand that it is through the love, prayers, and financial support of God's people that we are able to do all that we do here each day. Personally, I think that ministering to over 3/4 million worldwide in a very personal way, EVERY DAY, for just $1,000 a day is the bargain of the century. Only God could make that possible.

I love you and care about you so much. You are the reason I am here each day. Your needs, your concerns, your hurts, your pains. That is why Liveprayer is here. I am thankful for this opportunity that God has given me to even get more intimately involved in some of your lives. I have prayed about this, and have total peace that this is what God wants me to do. While I have tremendous responsibilities in the daily operations of this ministry, I don't ever want to forget that my number one responsibility is to be a servant. I pray in the coming weeks and months, should Jesus tarry, that I can serve you and stand with you in an even more of an intimate way for those needs that you have in your life. I never want to lose sight that just as Jesus came to serve, not be served, so are those who have been called into full time ministry. We are to be servants first. Our needs come second to the needs of those God has called us to minister to. I pray today that my service to Him will be pleasing and acceptable in His sight! After all, the words all of God's children should yearn to hear are, "well done, thou good and faithful.... SERVANT"!!!!!!!

In His love and SERVICE,
Your friend and brother in Christ,
Bill Keller
